Stranger Things might just be Netflix’s most popular show and the wait for Season 3 is getting out of control. The good news is that Stranger Things Season 3 is already on its way. Production on the show’s third season began in Atlanta late last month and we’ve got the cute twitter exchange to prove it:

But what do we already know about the third season of Stranger Things? When is Stranger Things Season 3 coming out? Who’s joining the cast in Season 3? What’s it going to be about? WHAT IS GOING ON!?!? Here’s everything we know — so far — about Stranger Things Season 3.

When Is The Stranger Things Season 3 Release Date?

While we don’t know officially when Stranger Things will return to Netflix, we have an vague idea of when it might land. David Harbour told Variety that fans shouldn’t expect to see Stranger Things Season 3 until 2019. “One of the things that’s annoying for fans is that it takes us a long time to do them,” Harbour said. “Like, you probably won’t get [Season 3] until sometime in 2019.

Who Is In The Stranger Things Season 3 Cast?

It looks like all your Stranger Things favorites — Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Joe Keery, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Winona Ryder, Sadie Sink, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Priah Ferguson, and Dacre Montgomery — are set to come back to the cast in Season 3 (with big pay raises!). However, Hawking, Indiana will be welcoming some new faces in Season 3. Here’s what we know so far:

• Little Women star Maya Hawke is joining the cast as Robin, an “alternative girl.” 
  
• The Princess Bride‘s Cary Elwes will play Mayor Kline, who has been described as “handsome, slick, and sleazy.”
  
• Jake Busey is set to play Bruce, a journalist working at The Hawkins Post. Bruce reportedly has “questionable morals and a sick sense of humor.”
  
• Haters Back Off star Francesca Reale will also appear in Season 3 as Heather, a lifeguard who finds herself at the center of a “dark mystery.”
  

What Will Happen In Stranger Things Season 3?

While everyone involved in the production is tight-lipped about spoilers, we do have some tantalizing clues about what to expect when Stranger Things returns.

Season 3 of Stranger Things will be set in the hazy summer of 1985. Thanks to Reale’s casting, we also know that a lifeguard — therefore a pool — will factor into the story somehow.
On the character front, we know that Eleven will get a “beautiful storyline.” Millie Bobby Brown told Variety that Season 3 will be “a coming of age for her and understanding what being a normal teenage girl is.” The Duffer Brothers told IndieWire that next season will also delve deeper into young love. Matt Duffer said, “I love the fact that they’re going through adolescence.” Also look out for Stranger Things siblings Billy and Erica to have a bigger parts, and even a return for Eleven’s “lost sister” Kali. But maybe the best news? MORE “DAD STEVE.”
As for possible villains? Execute Producer Dan Cohen hinted that the mind flayer will return and that he was hovering over the school dance for a very specific purpose.

How Many Episodes Will Be In Stranger ThingsSeason 3?

There will be eight episodes in Stranger Things Season 3 — just like there were in Season 1. Note, Season 2 was expanded to nine episodes.

Will Millie Bobby Brown Return To Social Media Soon?

In case you missed it, Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown deleted her twitter recently after her image was used against her permission in a series of viral homophobic memes. Ultimately, it’s up to Brown to decide whether or not she’ll return to the social media platform. However, she is still active on Instagram — where she told fans all about how she broke her knee cap in an off-set injury. SO MILLIE’S OKAY. (Well, she’s got a split knee cap, but she’s okay!)
