House Rules

Treat others with respect. Harassing, attacking, threatening, provoking, calling unwanted attention to, name-calling, insulting, flaming, baiting, bashing, trolling or bothering other members or staff on the forums will not be tolerated. This also means showing respect for the cast and crew of the show whether on this forum or outside of it. Harassing actors/crew on social media may result in being banned from the forum.

Profanity. We do not censor the random curse words here; however, posts that contain defamatory, explicit, obscene, threatening, or offensive content will be removed subject to the staffs' discretion. The forum’s main focus is a show featuring children. The minimum age on the forum is 12. However, there may be sub-forums dedicated to topics suited more to adults. Sub-forums that may contain subject matter not suitable for minors will be clearly noted in the sub-forum’s description and are not intended for audiences under 18 years of age.

Reporting Posts. Report any post you feel violates one of the House Rules or Terms of Service. Be sure to include a detailed explanation of the situation, including links, if necessary. Do not publicly respond to or comment on posts or discussions that break the rules. Not all reports will be found to be legitimate. If a post is edited or deleted as a result of the report, the reporter will be notified. Warnings are private and will not be discussed with other members. Do not target or retaliate against other members by abusing the report system.

Keep private matters private. Do not repost or discuss any private messages or emails you receive from other forum members or staff. Protect the privacy of other forum users by keeping real names and emails out of public posts. Understand that posting photos of yourself or family members sends that photo out into cyberspace forever and you do so at your own risk.

Do not discuss moderator disciplinary actions. Posts that contain this information will be removed and will incur further disciplinary action.

Check your sensitivities at the door. Just because you have an opinion it does not make you right. Not everyone who disagrees with you is a troll. Remember that you’re on an internet forum and that differences of opinion can escalate rather quickly. Do not be a part of the problem.

Be yourself. Impersonating another poster or misleading others is not allowed. Forum users are allowed to have one account only. If someone else from your household wants to register, contact the Forum Manager.

A Note about 'Ships. The cast and character of the show Stranger Thing features minors. Any discussion revolving around the relationships of under-age characters must be kept PG-13. Suggestive images (manips, fan art, etc.) or content will not be tolerated.

Things that will get you banned without warning

Posting illegal content or engaging in illegal actions. This includes piracy, malware, phishing, fraud, Warez, etc., pornography, illegal drug use, and anything depicting any type of real or simulated animal or human abuse.

Harassment/Stalking. Harassment of another member is not tolerated, including harassment outside of the forum that causes disruption to the member’s enjoyment of this forum. Threats of physical harm against another member will be reported to the authorities. Threats are never "just a joke."

Violating Member Privacy. Any posting of real names, addresses, phone numbers or any other identifying information of another.

Discrimination. This includes (but may not be limited to) discriminatory comments against someone's race, ethnicity, culture, gender, age, religion or sexual orientation.

Spam. Advertising of any kind is not allowed, including requests for donations.

Intentionally behaving in a malicious manner.

Posting Guidelines

- All posts must be in English.
- Maximum image dimensions for posts and signatures is 500 x 500.
- Maximum avatar dimensions are 100 x 100.
- Usernames should not contain profanity.
- Use generally accepted forum etiquette which includes use of punctuation and caps to begin sentences. Avoid all-caps posts (shouting), multi-color, “text-speak” or other difficult to read fonts/styling.
- Stay on topic.
- No junk posts. Posts must actively contribute to the discussion. Short posts, bumps, gif bombing and cross-posting are not allowed.

Spoilers

Members are welcome to post spoiler information here that they find elsewhere about any show . Please follow these simple guidelines.

- Any TV show spoiler posted outside of the designated areas for spoilers must be contained within spoiler tags. No spoilers allowed in thread titles.
- You may post text and images you find on social media.
- Do not publish any confidential spoiler sources.
- If you post a thread containing a spoiler or possible spoiler found from a public source (any spoiler site, magazine, online media site, etc.), post a link to the source.
- If you post un-watermarked photos, you should provide a link to the original source of those photos. Do a little research before spreading around what might be untrue information.
- Staff reserves the right to remove any spoiler information that infringes on the trademark/copyright rights of another.
- Information is considered a spoiler until the episode first airs in the U.S.

Warnings

Reports will be handled on a case-by-case basis by either a moderator, the forum manager, or the forum administrator. If it is determined that a rule has been violated, a warning will be issued.

Types of warnings:

Reminders - may include a pm from a mod or in-thread reminder
Informal warnings (IW’s) - will go on member's permanent record and be tracked
Strikes - formal warnings, also tracked, which may lead to account restrictions or banning

After 3 strikes, a member will be permanently banned from the forum. Any member accumulating 3 informal warnings will be issued a strike.

Strike 1 = May result in some account restrictions as applicable.

Strike 2 = Seven days banned from the forum

Strike 3 = Permanently banned from the forum.

Strikes may be removed from a user’s account at the moderator’s discretion after 90 days of no further violations. Members may also remove strikes from their account by purchasing a strike waiver at the cost of 200 points. Contact the Forum Manager. By either method, only one strike can be removed every 90 days.

Appealing a Strike. Strikes may be appealed by sending a private message to the moderator who issued the strike plus ShinyFirefly, the Forum Administrator, in the message. If you choose to appeal the strike, other members who might have been involved with the situation may be called upon to present their side of the story and include evidence. Appealing a strike waives certain privacy rights.

Accounts

Only one account per member allowed. Please notify a staff member if someone else in your household wants to register.

Banned accounts. Any member who re-registers a new account after being permanently banned will have that account also immediately banned.

Deleting accounts.Users may not delete their account and we do not delete accounts. You may clear your profile of all personal information and leave the forum should you choose to no longer participate.

Username change. Unless there is an extenuating circumstance, only members who have less than 25 posts may change their username. Contact the Forum Manager.
